A keychain, coin purse or other small item helps get you into the luxury market without breaking the bank. What about luxury consumables? Items like water or condiments or food items that are branded with a luxury brand may make a very big difference in appeal that has. Why is it important to have a luxury branded item? Trying a gourmet item that doesn’t taste well makes me thing that I have wasted my money.

Yet if luxury spaghetti sauce evokes a pleasurable response, why wouldn’t I enjoy Prince tablecloths too? Pleasure is power. “You can get pleasure out of a can opener,” says Henrik Hagtvedt, marketing professor at Boston College and the study’s other co-author.

It’s all in the name. Many times store branded items are very similar to brand names. Don’t believe this? Then why are luxury knockoffs such a large market?

Luxury isn’t always synonymous with quality which is the biggest detractor for some people who are spending hard earned money for a name or status symbol. Gourmet items offer some quality or specialness which makes buyers want to try the item. With luxury items the additional services or quality of the goods is what makes a luxury item just that – something out of the ordinary and special.

Luxury consumables nee to have a stellar product behind the name, otherwise the product’s not worth the name.
