Money is on everyone’s minds now, whether or not you have some or won’t, whether or not you have a job or are trying to get one, then you have a problem.
Instead of focusing on money, think about something that you like to do that doesn’t require any money. Whether it is reading, walking or sitting and talking to a friend who is close to you take your mind off of money for a while.
Job losses are occurring daily and coping skills are what people need to be told about. It’s not as though just one company has gone out of business or isn’t making money and everyone else around you thrives. We’re all in this together… If you are unemployed, find something that you can focus on that doesn’t require money. You know those books you have in your house that are gathering dust and you told yourself you would always read – read them. The hobby/ project that you have been putting off and have the materials for – dust them off and get to it.
Redirecting your energy into something positive will give you perspective about the economy. It may seem glum but there are opportunities to look at the important things – friends, family and faith. Money isn’t everything, it seems important when you don’t have any though.
