    Painless Saving

    By Daphne | July 29, 2008

Are you always on the lookout for money saving tips and ways to cut corners?

Yesterday, I had lunch with my mother and I ordered a sandwich which came with soup. She was going to order soup and a salad. Instead, I told her that she could order a house salad which is what comes with the soup and salad and have my soup since I don’t like soup. It wasn’t a big savings, a dollar and a cup of soup didn’t go to waste.

When dining out with friends and family see how you can share meals or sides to customize your meal and save money.

An appetizer and a salad may be just as filling or more filling than an entree. You don’t have to order an alcoholic beverage when you go out. Even if you order a regular soda or seltzer with a lime or lemon wedge it will give your meal some zip.

If you do decide to order an entree, look for something that you can either split with another person or take home for another meal.

Set a budget when you go out. If you want to go out with friends and can only afford to spend a certain amount, then take the amount you wish to spend and put it in a certain place.
