    Vitamin Packs

    By Daphne | May 9, 2008

    Vitamin packs.

They seem appealing but are they really better or cheaper?

I take a multivitamin daily and a couple of supplements. It would be more convenient to get the packages. Convenience doesn’t always spell cheaper. Most of the vitamin packs come in 30 day supplies. Most multivitamins come in three or four month supplies. So when you multiply the cost of one month’s vitamins, by three or four the convenience is not cost efficient. Plus, there is all of the extra packaging for each day’s dose.

Instead another option would be to purchase a pill case and put your pills in that for a vacation or to buy a multi day pill organizer and put all of your vitamins for each day into the container.

To make it really convenient there are even special blends for people who take certain medications or who have certain health conditions. Instead of shelling out $15 or so for the “convenient” packages, check with your doctor and see which of those supplements your doctor recommends (and which will have no side effects with the medication you currently take).

Decide which doses of supplements you want to take and put them together for yourself.

I agreed with most of your post until I found this company - http://www.vitaminsondemand.com. Good value, you can select from a bunch of mini-options that are put together for different reasons - joint, heart, etc…, and it comes packaged in something resembling a 4 week calendar. I love it.
