Earth Day 2008
By Daphne | April 22, 2008
Happy Earth Day!
Since oil prices are soaring, Earth Day really does take on a new meaning, if nothing more than saving money.
Actors, singers and high profile people tell about their commitment to the Earth but do regular people really feel that they can do something? By taking a stand and working toward long lasting change we can do something. It won’t be by doing something once like attending a concert. Making an effort to reduce waste, consume less and recycle will definitely make a difference but require long term effort.
Here are some resources for Earth Day.
Ecologue offers articles and tops on being and buying green as well as recycling and reducing waste.
If you need another perspective on recycling and plastic, watch this video clip from Chicago Tonight on the Resource Center.
Make your commitment to saving the Earth public; go to “What Will You Do for Earth Day ‘08″ and share what you will do to make a change.
My commitment includes sorting through my garbage and putting things into the recycling bin. Some of the paper that is sent with junk mail or household products like toilet paper rolls can be recycled.
Start small to affect great change.
