    Compare Prices

    By Daphne | March 31, 2008

Compare the prices of items at different stores once in a while. Occasionally, stores will increase their prices on a few items that you consider staples. If a couple of items that you buy regularly increase by 40 cents. If the price of one item only increased by 40 cents, it may not be really worth your while to make another trip to another store.

If you see the prices have increased for more than two trips on more than 1 item or by 25% or more on one item, check another store. If you are driving to a store 2 miles in one direction, if there is a store two miles in another direction, check the prices there.

To save money on grocery items, check places like drugstores or Target, or K-mart. Some of these stores carry grocery type items as loss leaders and you may be able to get a better price on these items.

Everyone wants to have variety in their diets and you may like a certain type of fruit but buy fresh fruit when it is on sale, not just the fruit that you like regardless of the price.

Compare prices of other items too such as tickets for concerts. Some have websites that offer cheaper tickets for events. Check around before making a commitment to use your money.
