    Early Bird

    By Daphne | November 23, 2007

If getting up early scares you, don’t worry there are still bargains to be had. The day after Thanksgiving is often considered the day to shop but if you are like me you want to avoid the crowds and not get caught up in the frenzy.

Be aware when you are shopping. Stick to what you intend to buy. If you are looking for something that is on sale at a great price only at a certain time be assured that others will be out there trying to get the same thing. See if rain checks are offered, if not then check online to see if the item is offered in the store as well.

The items that are on sale may be “loss leaders” the items to get you in the store in hopes of spending more money. Buy the sale items and get out!

So far there is nothing that is calling me and saying that I should get out of bed to buy it for a recipient on my gift list.

Before you think about going out and buying something really early because it is at a good price, check around online. There are deals available online now… check out Black Friday Ads, check the big box stores, or just type in the name of the item you want in a search engine and compare prices.

The early bird may catch the worm but not always the best deals when shopping. Make sure that the “early bird” specials are really worth it.
